Artist's Description
Normally, it is hard for me to capture pictures of butterflies because they fly around so quickly. However, on this day I was lucky enough to capture this butterfly trying to use its proboscus to get nectar out of a rock. I had to laugh, because some days I do silly things as well. This image won a contest in the Facebook Group, Women in Photography: Bokeh, Reflections and Silhouettes.
About Sunniye Buesing
I first fell in love with photography when I began hiking about 8 years ago. At first, I took pictures because I was so slow and out of shape that I used it as an excuse to stop and catch my breath. Even when I got to the point where I could hike faster, I still found myself stopping to take pictures. For me, taking pictures trains my eye to look for beauty. These pictures are a love letter to the mountains of Colorado, where I learned to love life. These pictures are also a love letter to all of my hiking partners, who put up with my constantly stopping to get a good shot! I currently shoot using a Sony A7R4. I still consider myself a beginner, and I learn more every day.
